We get our reclaimed lumber from early 20th century barns, stables, and other rural structures in Kentucky, Tennessee and across the Midwest United States. Each building is painstakingly deconstructed to minimize damage to the wood. Surface nails are removed from each board by hand. Our barnwood is sold by species and color. We kiln dry our wood prior to milling.
Our reclaimed barnwood products include Oak Lumber, Hardwood Lumber, Beams, Paneling and Flooring.
We also are proud to offer our Reclaimed Hemlock Mushroom Wood,
Barnwood is made from reclaimed lumber and is a natural product. Variations between product samples and the final product may occur. Any variation or defect is acceptable if the product is structurally sound. Examples of variations and defects include, but are not limited to:
Mixed grain patterns
These imperfections should be expected and appreciated as part of the added character and beauty of reclaimed wood. Atlanta Barnwood further makes no representations about likely yield percentages or waste factors for any intended use/application. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify the suitability of Atlanta Barnwood reclaimed wood and to determine the appropriate quantities needed to account for yield/waste issues arising from any variation in board length and/or width.
METAL, INSECT, AND CONTAMINANT DISCLAIMER
Atlanta Barnwood does not represent reclaimed wood to be free of metal, dirt, paint (including lead-based paint), lead, insects/bugs, or other contaminants. Even when the reclaimed material goes through Atlanta Barnwood’s metal detection and removal, the customer is responsible for verifying that the material is suitable for sawing or other processing.
Atlanta Barnwood cannot be certain of all prior uses of its reclaimed material. Since most reclaimed material originates from structures dating before 1978, the material may have come into contact or contain lead-based paint. (For more information on lead, go to http://www.epa.gov/lead).
While Atlanta Barnwood’s process typically includes kiln drying, this service does not create a guarantee or warranty that the material is or will be completely insect/bug free. Atlanta Barnwood may, at the customer’s request, apply borate, fumigants or other treatments in an attempt to reduce the potential for insect/bug issues, for an additional charge. Unless specifically noted as being fumigated/treated, our products are not fumigated or treated for insects or bugs.
While kiln drying typically prevents any mold/fungus issues, in the event that mold/fungus issues arise, the customer must notify Atlanta Barnwood within 7 days of product shipment. Atlanta Barnwood accepts no responsibility or liability for mold/fungus issues which arise after the receipt of products.
